Dedicated to improving the lives of seniors in Canada since 1991.
Our Present Project
Annual High Tea
Our high tea event is an opportunity for our seniors and the supporters to get together for an afternoon and socialize over a light lunch and tea. We also use the annual opportunity to raise awareness on relevant topics related to our seniors including healthy ageing, mind/body wellness, accessibility issues and elder abuse. Of course we always try to have some entertainment to lighten the mood!
This dynamic ladies group has been meeting on a weekly basis for many years. Socializing is an important way to maintain physical, emotional and mental health. Many participants have commented on how much they look forward to the weekly meetup, preparing food and getting clothes ready well in advance.
Rehma Community Past Programs
Halal Meals on Wheels
Free Halal Meals are delivered at the door step of seniors above 65 + years residing in the areas of Throncliffe Park, Victoria Village and Flemingdon Park. This program addresses food security issues of our elders who are in need.
Seniors facing barriers of language, technology, mobility and culture find it difficulty to access services. At Reh’ma we recognize how important it is for them to get involved and to be integrated.
Since 2013, Reh’ma’s free one year certification program in culinary arts has helped many immigrant women to enter the job market. Helping women to become economically empowered is helping them and their families to have a better quality of live.
Reh’ma House of foods is a social enterprise to support employment of women who come from marginalized backgrounds. We have catered for many events and occasions. To support this cause, please place your catering orders.
